First International Workshop on Semantic Applied Technologies on Biomedical Informatics (SATBI 2011)

In conjunction with ACM International Conference on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (ACM-BCB)

Chicago, IL, U.S.A. August 1-3, 2011

This first edition of SATBI wants to focus on one of the most emerging trends in Semantic Web area: Linked Data. Linked Data is a method for publishing structured data in such a way that it can be interlinked and become more useful. This new way to see the data is a revolution inside the Semantic technologies and it has a direct appliance on eHealth area, and concretely in Biomedical Informatics.

The workshop aims to attract researchers from Computer Science, Information Science, Biomedicine, Bioinformatics, and related areas to share research challenges, results, methods and advances in the appliance of Semantic Web technologies to Bioinformatics field, paying special attention in papers which covers Linked Data topic.

Apart from Linked Data main topic, we encourage researchers to submit papers which are related with other topics related with Semantic technologies.

To see a list topics of interest please go to Call for Papers page.

NEWS: Authors of selected papers will have an opportunity to extend their workshop papers for publication (subject to peer review) in Journal of Biomedical Semantics.
